I was using AVG free edition (My wife's and Kids machines)and Norton on my machine.I bought this 3 user Total protection and so that I can deal with one software.
McAfee found problem with one of my file attachment in one of my old mail.( I am surpraised that other anti-virus softwares did not even recognize them).
1. It did not slowed down machine. (This is secondry concern of mine while buying McAfee). I am quite happy about it.
2. Site advisor and firewalls and simple to use.
3. Autopromting and adjusting when connecting to public networks over wireless is seemingly simple.
4. Update process do not hog resources ( Comparing with AVG)
5. Site advisor was realy helpful on my kids machine. It took 5 minutes to explain my 5 year old kid with 2 simple color of RED(Unsafe site) and green ( safe site).
Snags noticed:-
1. Not very convinient way of scheduling full scan. I wanted this happen to on saturday, but could not figure out way to do it.
2. I could not install directly on my spouse's machine(Windows Vista Home edition). Had to call customer care and finally got it done.
Conclusion:
It great buy and worth money spent on it

It is very good at detecting and finding viruses although it does have some minor flaws. When I had a major virus it was unable to fully destory itand malwarebytes which is free was able to. Also site advisor does not work with Google Chrome. Also I think it may slow down my computer slightly.Customer Review: Install problems

I have used McAfee for a number of years and think it is a great product to keep your PC safe. And it does more than that. I recently have started using the included EasyNetwork to transfer files between a PC using Windows XP and one using Vista. (Seting up Windows to do this seems to be virtually impossible).
I did run into an installation problem with McAfee this time when it came to renew. The easy way would have been to spend $59.99 and purchase the McAfee renewal (for 3 PCs). But Amazon were selling the same software (3 user) on a CD for $29.99. Naturally I choose the latter. However, McAfee the company are not set up to handle this automatically and I had a hassle registering my new software with them. The problem was eventually solved by their customer service. (It probably would have worked better had I registered as a new person with a new email address).
