Customer Review: McAfee Internet Security 2010 provides improved security

My household has used McAfee several years ago and I didn't think it was very user friendly. Well, this version does the trick. One feature I like a lot is that the scanning software throttles back when you're playing games or watching movies. It defers scans and other processing while the system in full-screen mode or on battery. There's nothing worse than getting killed off in a FPS when your system decides to do a virus scan.
The installation experience was pretty painless. Since it's a good idea to remove any other security packages from the system before installing new ones, you should disconnect your system from the Internet until the software's fully installed. After the installation is complete, you can reconnect your system and download the latest virus and software updates.
My husband and I have a variety of systems in the house ranging from older single core systems running Windows XP to quad-core systems running Windows 7. The older systems are more affected by the active protection, but that's to be expected. The multi-core systems are able to dedicate a CPU core to managing security without affecting overall system performance. Beside that McAfee Internet Security 2010 is a good product to use.
