bought thru private owner from Amazon, product box didn't have barcode. Wouldn't buy it if the owner put out a note or mentioned it. Basically the owner was dis-honest and withdrew the information. It worked only a month after installing it, it kept asking to update the product (even the product supposely lasts for 1 year) and hung, then stopped & froze the computer. Basically if you don't update the product, it won't allow you to continue or use the computer. BAD PRODUCT!!!!

Read between the lines. McAfee software takes over my computer every time it runs. I don't have the option to stop it from running without removing it altogether. I get annoying prompts 4-6 times a day that my computer is insufficiently protected unless I buy something from them. When the computer downloads "updates" it ties up much of the processing capability (watch the several processes on Windows Task Manager associated with McAfee gobble up most system CPU) long enough to download the entire suite all over again, instead of just updates. I can't do anything else while McAfee has seized my system, and it takes about five minutes after it is done to recover to where other apps run at a normal pace. Aaargh!

The spam filteR is worthless. If it is on high, everything including E MAILS you want goes into the spam box . If it is on medium, everything goes into the in box, even senders you want blocked. So basically, the filter does nothing. I had seven contacts and wasted 7 hours with their India tech support. They could not fix it. They made three promises to call me with higher level team 2 and team 2.5 support. I waited by the phone three evenings and no one ever called. Always technical difficulties. The only technical difficulty is their spam filter and their baloney excuses. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT A SPAM FILTER.

I purchased this product to replace a Norton/Symantec product. As much as I dislike Norton I have found McAfee to be much worse. The customer support is absolutely USELESS! Do not waste your money on this product.
